- is applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section.
rule of thirds means that the subject isn't centered in the image, which is how many new photographers frame their shots.
composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject.
